RE: Battery Problems w/ refrigerator

skipnchar, it will run when the batteries are both fully charged without shore power. I would think that the 2nd battery should be handling it if the 1st one is low. Does not make sense to me.

Battery Problems w/ refrigerator

I have two batteries in my 5er, they are hooked together. If the front one is low and the 2nd one is nearly fully charged the refrig does not seem to want to run when not hooked to shore power.
Anyone have any thoughts? I know I am do for new batteries as they are now 5 years old.

RE: Ford F-350 vs F-450

If you are worried about the ride I believe you can get air ride as an option on the 450. I sure would like to have it on my 350 as my wife has a bad back.
I think the 450 is a better option for what you are going to pull. My neighbor pulls about the same setup with a SRW F350 but I think he is crazy to do so, way over the limit expecially with the second trailer. I run a V10 and get 8.5 to 9.5 pulling. A lot of people are not getting much better with a diesel pulling.

San Lorenzo Cnty Park, King City, CA

We spent 4 days here and could not believe how nice a park this is. I am not sure why it is not fully utilized as it seems to have few visitors.
Very clean, quiet and well kept in general with lots of things to see and do right in the park.
The only down sides I could find is that the sites are narrow and there are some issues with low tree branches. The site width was not an issue as there were few campers but if it was full they are close.
A great place for just overnight or a few days!

RE: 7 Pin Connector in the bed 2008 F350 CC

I simply use the one that is on the bumber, did not see any need to run another cable or put in another hole. I found on my old truck that the one in the side of the bed was in the way if I hauled anything it would be bumped/banged and even broke one time.

RE: Does anyone have the dimensions of the game "washers"??

I made my own, they are 4 ft long, 12 inches wide and the holes start 10 inches from the end with 7 inches between them. 3 holes. I think the washers are 3 inches. I made them about 6 inches off the ground using 2x2 legs. I covered them with marine type carpet and made the holes with vinyl. with a big help from my DW!
I framed them with 1x2's so that the 1x2's stuck up about 1/2 inch on each side and end to help keep the washers from flying off the sides and give a little help with the game. It is a tough game at times.

Refrigerator Rust

I pulled the vent cover off of the outside of my 5er refrigerator this past weekend and was suprised to see a lot of rust on the pipes etc. Any idea what would cause that?
The 5er is 5 years old but I would not think those pipes would rust as they do not look like the kind of material subject to rust.
What is the best way to clean that up?

RE: Ford V-10 vs Diesel

I have been running a Ford V10 since 1998, 1st an 1999 F250 and now a 2008 F350 dully. Really like it. I did drive my brothers diesel and it is a little for peppy but the V10 is cleaner, quieter and a whole lot less smelly! with pleanty of power. The only thing I do not like about a dully is the width for parking in a parking lot and my wife still has not driven it because it is too wide!

LineX Fading Issues

I had my bed sprayed with LineX 3 months ago and it looked great but now has faded and looks dull. Has that been the experience of others with the LineX product?
If so what can be done to restore some of the shine?
Thanks,

RE: 2008 F350 clearance

I went from a 1999 F250 2x4 to a 2008 F350 4x4 and had no issues. The 08 is an off road one too.

RE: Roto-Choks dont fit

I do not have this problem, It sounds like you either gave them the wrong measurments between the tires or they sent you the wrong ones. They are very good to deal with, just call them.

RE: SRW or DRW F-350?

I recently went from a F250 SRW to a F350 DRW. The biggest negative is finding a place to park when not pulling, too wide for most parking lot spaces. The other thing is that my wife use to drive the F250 once in a while but won't drive the F350 at least yet, too big she says! As far as pulling I do not think it has made that much difference but it is hard to tell as the other change was going to a 4x4. Very nice truck though!

RE: Storage ideas for 50 amp power cord

My 5er came with a hose type hanger in the front storage area, I just hang it there. But the cord sure is heavy, wish I had 30 amp!

RE: Major Renovations

First I would find a 5er that is very close to what you want, I think there are some in the newer models. Making significant modifications can cause major structual problems and axle weight issues.
In my opinion not worth the worry, but some less major changes are fine and little worry. Just my opinion though! Good luck!
I have not run across any sites like you are asking about.
